Over many years there has been much confusion about among Belle Isle's many institutions: the Casino. this is not a gambling casino, but instead uses the old sense of the phrase, a spot for "public entertainments." This Casino has been used for this specific purpose since the original structure was integrated the 1880s, being a gathering place for Detroiters for generations.
The first building to become called the Casino was internal 1887, as Belle Isle was being transformed into a municipal park. It was constructed to keep events, bazaars, and things of that nature, which its successor principal purpose is to do as well. The original building burnt down in early 1900s.
The original building was check here replaced in 1907 having a building designed by the firm of Van Leyen and Schilling. This building has continued for everyone its function successfully for more than 10 years now, as well as future seems to be secure well in to the future, inspite of the problems that Belle Isle has experienced in recent years.
